Each of the botanical ingredients used in our blends undergo independent third-party lot testing for herbicides and pesticides, ensuring that our teas meet the strictest of standards. Therefore, whilst not all of our blends are Certified Organic, each one is rigorously tested so that we can be certain that they are entirely free of harmful chemicals and toxins.

For over 25 years, we have built incredibly close relationships with each of the gardens that we work with, which is why we are deeply considerate of the challenges that many of them face. We do not require our growers to undergo the process of becoming Certified Organic, as these certifications can impose large added costs that are often unaffordable for smaller gardens to obtain. We are proud to offer our ongoing support to small-scale growers and, as such, we cater to their needs and are extremely conscious of the implications of necessitating this type of credential.

Yes, all of our teas are third-party tested based on stringent International EU standards as to herbicide, pesticide, mold, and salmonella. Adding radiation testing is part of our Total Quality Management and foodsafe hazard control practices. TEALEAVES third-party testing exceeds all international standards, offering Full Lot Traceability.

Our loose leaf and teabags offer tealeaves rich in essential oils, individually packaged to preserve freshness and the finest aroma and flavor. Unopened, our tea will remain fresh for up to two years.

To ensure your loose tea stays fresh after it has been opened, please:

1. Keep it in TEALEAVES’ food-safe storage tins, with the lid tightly closed.

2. Keep it away from direct heat and sun, best kept in a cool location.

3. Keep the tea away from spices, strong aromas, etc. to prevent scent absorption.

If you follow most to all of the above, the tea will remain fresh for up to 1 year.

All of our loose leaf tea tins are packed to have a consistent volume of tea. As different botanicals and raw ingredients inherently have different weights, the overall weight of the tea will vary between each varietal.
